Cloud Underground

Meet the Team

Cloud Underground is made up of a small, yet well-rounded, team of innovative and passionate engineers and entrepreneurs. We do what we do for the Cloud Underground because we love it.

Laura Anderson Riley, CEO

CEO Laura Anderson Riley

Laura is a serial entrepreneur, writer, marketer, content creator, and web developer. She spent much of her early career working as a print journalist and magazine editor, radio producer, and on-air DJ. Though they may not seem technical, these experiences made her naturally inquisitive, adaptable, and willing to take risks – the trifecta of skills necessary to run a cloud computing start-up!

In her free time, she enjoys taking long walks with her partner Nato and their Alaskan Klee Kais Augustus and Apollo. She also enjoys knitting and sewing, distance running, customizing her tech, tinkering with CSS, and playing action RPGs on her PC.

Nato Riley, Chief Science Officer

COO Nato Riley and Augustus

Nathan Riley, also known as Nato, is the inventor of the Olympiad platform used by the Cloud Underground and has spent the majority of his professional life creating new cloud and security focused technologies. From being a serial entrepreneur to being an intrapreneur who works with Blumira as an integrations engineer, Nato is dedicated to finding ways to make advanced technologies more affordable and accessible for everyone.

Since creating the Olympiad, Nato has gotten lost in his code to the point where he no longer exists on the physical plane of existence – he is now comprised purely of code… Nato is Code.

When Nato is not trying to take over the cyber world, he spends his leisurely time with his hero and life partner, Laura. He is also disabled, so a vicious creature named Augustus aids him as a service dog that ensures the success of Nato’s mad conquests to constantly find new horizons to challenge.

With the incredible support of his partner Laura and the trusty beast Augustus, Nato is always trying to come up with some crazy new way to help more individuals around the world grow their careers and businesses in technology and beyond. To learn more from or about Nato, join the DevSecOps Dojo where he teaches technical mastery as Sensei. Learn more about Nato on his YouTube channel, Nato as Code.

Jordan Anderson, CTO

CTO Jordan Anderson

Jordan grew up in rural Colorado where he spent a lot of time outside hiking, camping, and enjoying the mountains. He also spent a lot of time indoors playing with computers and other electronics. His first computer was an Apple IIe, which was a fantastic system for learning the basics of computer interfaces. He has been playing with computers ever since.

He currently spends a lot of time learning about emerging technologies, developing software in Linux, designing products for additive manufacturing, and exploring open-source solutions for emerging technological challenges.

Randall Massie, CISO

CIO Randall Massey

Randall is a Senior Applications Developer and U.S. Coast Guard veteran. He has been in IT for more than 20 years and spent most of that time in the enterprise fintech space. He has a passion for learning and innovating new technologies, which led him to Cloud Engineering and DevOps. This is where he met Nato, Laura, and Jordan who were doing amazing things in this space. Having an opportunity to join them on their mission of serving their community of innovators has been extremely rewarding.

When he isn’t deep in code and learning new things, he is spending quality family time with his wife and four beautiful children.

Ken Underhill, Underground Ops Chief Strategy Officer

Ken is the Executive Producer and host of the syndicated Cyber Life® television show, which reaches millions of viewers each month around the world on the Binge Networks app, Amazon, Roku, and more than 100 other streaming television channels.
