The Dream Team to Help You Scale

The Dream Team to Help You Scale

From Wearing ALL the Hats to Building a Drop Squad

When we started Cloud Underground, I wore a lot of hats. If you’ve ever built a business from scratch, you know what that feels like—juggling countless tasks, switching between roles, and constantly wondering how to find enough hours in the day.

Over time, my spouse and business partner Nato Riley and I had a breakthrough. We realized that those roles we were frantically cycling through weren’t just random to-do list items. They represented something bigger: a framework for scaling our business effectively.

This framework became what we now call the Drop Squad model.

What Is the Drop Squad Model?

The Drop Squad model breaks a business into four distinct roles, creating a small, nimble team that covers every critical function. Think of it as the core operating system for running and growing a business. Here’s how it works:

☎️ Dispatcher: The Organizer-in-Chief

The Dispatcher is the glue that holds the team together. This person leads the squad, manages client communication, ensures alignment across roles, and handles the administrative backbone, including billing. They’re the captain steering the ship.

🤝 Agent: The Relationship Builder

The Agent focuses on forging connections and driving sales. They keep opportunities flowing by networking, pitching, and ensuring a steady pipeline of growth for the business.

🖼️ Technologist: The Front-End Expert

The Technologist is all about what clients see and experience. From designing websites to optimizing SEO and creating visuals, this role brings the creative vision to life and ensures everything looks polished and professional.

🧑‍💻 Hacker: The Technical Backbone

The Hacker handles the behind-the-scenes magic. They’re responsible for coding, managing backend infrastructure, and troubleshooting the technical complexities that make the business run smoothly.

Why the Drop Squad Model Works

Whether you’re a solopreneur managing all four roles on your own or leading a growing team, the Drop Squad model offers clarity and direction. It breaks the overwhelming chaos of running a business into manageable, well-defined roles that fit together like puzzle pieces.

For us, this framework was a game-changer. It allowed us to step back, analyze our strengths, and eventually delegate effectively. As we grew, it also became a scalable way to bring new people into our business without losing momentum.

What Role Are You Playing Today?

If you had to define your role right now, where would you fall? Are you the Dispatcher, coordinating everything? The Agent, driving sales? The Technologist, making everything look great? Or the Hacker, keeping the backend humming?

Here’s a question to think about: If you could outsource one role tomorrow, which would it be? Identifying that can be a first step toward building your own Drop Squad and scaling your business with intention.

Let us know your thoughts in the comments. Are you juggling all four roles, or are you ready to create your squad?

The Drop Squad model is not just a framework. It’s the foundation of how we operate at Cloud Underground and how we help other entrepreneurs do the same. Ready to learn more? Join the RPG of Life Business Model Builder to learn more about Cloud Underground and start your business today.
