What to Expect With Cloud Jam
We at Cloud Underground don't believe most vendor trainings are effective, and in many cases can lead to users becoming less competent and potentially less effective with technology.
We believe that teaching non-transferrable skills that are not agnostic in nature is unacceptable for education.
What does our gauntlet test with this in mind?
- Critical thinking skills: Can you think on your feet and succeed when trying new things?
- First principles thinking aptitude: Can you effectively think for yourself with any set of limited tools you are handed?
- Agnostic computer science skills with anything binary: A computer is a computer - are you competent with technology?
- Technical adaptability: Do you have the ability to see not just how tech is different, but more importantly can you see how it's all the same?
- Ability to escape vendor brain: Are you able to develop skills that work with any vendor's technology, is your skillset agnostic or vendor locked?
- Can you finish what you start?
We don't teach vendor-locked skillsets.
Completing this gauntlet means you have forced yourself to adopt the skillset of an agnostic architect.
Cloud Underground is incredibly different from other technology companies; even though we are the vendor of the Underground Nexus, it is against our philosophy and sovereign creed to provide you with vendor-locked training.
You'll gain many benefits from picking up the muscle memory and absorbing the experience and knowledge gained from completing the Cloud Jam Gauntlet:
- Your familiarity with shell commands will allow you to follow vendor documentation to work effectively with AWS, Azure, GCP, or any other cloud, since the shell skills are fully transferrable.
- Many tasks require hardware level activities, and all cloud and self-hosted environments have hardware that will work with hardware-level commands somewhere deep beneath the surface.
- This training is a gauntlet that takes you through the OSI model as an OSI model tour and experience using the Underground Nexus as our way of guiding you through agnostic concepts such as networking, CLI, software management, quality assurance testing, and the skill to follow technical guides
AWS wants you to only know AWS. Azure wants you to only know Azure. Cloud Underground wants you to push yourself to become competent in an agnostic skillset, and if your skillset becomes vendor-locked, our goal is to help you escape that prison.
Your skillset should build your sovereignty, not corner you into a dying workforce where people are trying to replace you with AI.
We also encourage you to try using AI to dig up sources about what you learn throughout the Gauntlet.
Trust the sources the AI finds more than the AI itself.
